It is always important to remember when choosing a yarn for a pattern that the best result will be achieved using the yarn specified in the leaflet. However, should a yarn substitution be required keep in mind that: different yarn of the same thickness (otherwise known as the count) may have a different meterage you may therefore use more or less balls to complete the garment; always try to use a similar texture yarn as specified in the pattern as to merely substitute it with a different quality will not result in the same drape as the garment photographed on the pattern and always try to use yarn of the same lot number as to avoid minor colour differences between lots.

Lastly, always remember to check your tension to avoid disappointment later. Good luck with your projects and enjoy browsing all of the lovely colours available in our shade album.
